Name a species competition

The Guardian newspaper, Natural England and the Oxford University Museum of Natural History teamed up to asked the public to give common names to 10 rare UK species. The winners and runners-up are given here.

Top 10 new species

International Institute for Species Exploration at Arizona State University select the top 10 new species for 2010 and seek nominations for 2011.
